My dearest Rodney,

Today, I have had another spiritual awakening. It sounds so basic as I think and write about it… it’s about my soul. I say « my » but of course, « I » don’t own a soul. God owns the souls…and He created me and gave me a soul during my time here on this earth. I take literally the scripture in Jeremiah and I believe that God knew my soul before I existed . “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5. (Honestly, Not feeling like a prophet though Rod, maybe that will come later!).

Then when I stated reading in Genesis again about the creation of man, I saw the word soul again: Genesis 2:7, KJV: “And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” … He breathed the breath of life into the man’s nostrils, and the man became a living person.” Does that mean That a soul becomes a body when a person is born? Or does it mean that a soul inhabits a body when it is born? Not sure. I just know that they are connected.

You knew you were an old soul Rodney. You told me you knew your soul had participated in the great battle in the heavens. You were a soldier from way back..all the way back to the battle referred to in the books of Isaiah, Ezekiel and finally Revelations 7-12. “And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.”

And then Rod, my curiosity kept me searching and thinking about “my soul”, I remember the old hymn with the words “Thank you, Lord, for saving my soul
Thank you, Lord, for making me whole
Thank you, Lord, for giving to me
Thy great salvation so rich and free” . Such comforting words and melody.

It’s all about the soul Rod! Everlasting life is about the soul having everlasting life! “John 3:16 kjv: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” You knew you were and old soul, and you were on the side of Jesus Christ. Satan fought to get your soul many times during your life..you stood firm in the name of Jesus Christ, your soul prevailed!

Does that mean reincarnation? I don’t think so..not in the form of coming back as different forms of life. I think it could be possible for the soul to come back into different human lives..but I don’t know about that. Still a mystery. You told me once Rod that you knew you had volunteered to come to this earth, and that this was your last time around. You had a mission of a much different type awaiting you after you went back “home”. I dont know how all that works Rod. I know that you had a knowing, and as I become ready, I will also have awakenings..like this one today. I believe we may have been soul mates from way back Rod! We just had to find one another during this early experience. There are no coincidences! You will always be the love of my life Rod. Always.

I’m grateful for the heightened sense of curiosity about spiritual things. I’m grateful for spiritual awakenings. I’m grateful to know that my soul belongs to God and that through His only begotten son Jesus Christ, who redeemed His body and blood for my soul, my soul has an everlasting life.

Thank you Rod. Thank you Father God. Thank you Jesus Christ.
